Now that's how you make a skit. None of that CGI crap.

The “My friends in college used to call me Maverick” made me lose it. My dad and his best friend looked like Maverick and Goose when they were in college and every time Top Gun is even mentioned he’ll say something like “Oh man, me and my buddy, whoo, we used to look just like them!” And he’d spend five minutes scrolling through his entire camera roll to find the same picture of them to show everyone

as a person who stares directly at the driver for the whole duration of the ride, this was very realistic

The "now that's how you make a movie" line is perfect. The delivery being calm as if its a fact coming from someone who has critiqued films for years when usually the Dad watching it hasn't been to the cinema in years. It's uncanny

I did actually go see this movie with my dad, and while I think he’s normally like this (this video should have been scarily accurate, I’m even an art student), after this movie he completely nerded out. He couldn’t stop talking about how much he enjoyed it. It was so cute

You think hes annoying but you're the one staring at him on a perfect 90 degree angle, staying perfectly silent while hes trying to drive the car

I'm 31, live over a thousand miles from my dad and somehow he still managed to make me see this movie with him.

I love how there is no side mirror, just a hole where a mirror should be. That way, the dad doesn’t have to worry about things that are closer than they appear.

“I just keep thinking about that scene with the um…you know when the plane goes up and you know, spins around. Rooster!”

This is how all dads describe movies, and it’s absolutely hilarious to see them simultaneously describing 1 scene and all scenes at the same time.

Cant't believe you became a dad just for this video

Can’t believe he went without CGI for this video. That’s actually him driving through time and space.

As a person who has not seen the movie or have a dad this was a great experience.

Seeing as how my father was a commercial pilot and did aerobatics training and absolutely loved anything fixed wing flying, passed away last August. He was so excited when he heard the new Top Gun was coming out, he looked up every trailer and every thing online he could about it. It even inspired him to rent a plane and renew his flight cert for the first time in 15 years. Then they delayed the released bc of covid and he died before it came out. I went to see it opening weekend and cried when the credits came on, not bc of the movie but knowing my dad would have loved it. No matter how annoying or how fed up you get with your dad, remember one day he will be gone and you never want to feel guilty for refusing to spend time with him when you could have. I'd give almost anything to be able to hug him and talk to him one more time.

You got all those subtle dad sounds down. The self laugh when you're thinking to yourself, that grunt after you're done saying something, hilarious.

As the son of a dude who only went to the naval academy because he saw the first Top Gun, this video is strangely validating.
