What is Market Cap?

Market Cap, or market capitalization, gives investors an idea how big a company is. It is calculated by multiplying outstanding shares by the current market price.

Also how do they determine how many shares to make available to the public? Thank you to anyone willing to answer my quesitons.

is the shareholders receives his or her dividends every month or he only received his dividends when he decides to sells his share the shareholders receive his share value plus profits in form of dividends?
