Market cap is a quick and easy way to evaluate the size and value of a company in the stock market. Companies with bigger market caps are larger businesses and those with smaller market caps are small companies. This video is part of my Stock Market Basics Playlist.

Market cap is broken down into a few different ranges. Companies with a market cap of more than $10 billion are known as large caps. Firms with a market cap in the range of $2 - $10 billion are fall into the mid caps category. And ventures with a market cap of less than $2 billion are regarded as small caps.
