Growing up within two different cultures in The Netherlands is difficult sometimes. 18-year-old Bilal Najja knows all about it. The Netherlands is a multicultural country where there is a lot of
tolerance for differences. That is what we are known for, right? Wrong! The technical business student experienced otherwise. Bilal is not just Dutch. He also has Moroccan nationality and he experiences some issues with this. The problem? “People have become more and
more individual. There are national problems occurring, such as excessive CO2 emissions, and it is important that we work together as a society. But how can we do that if we do not know our teammates?”
“It surprises me that some people do not know the roots of their own neighbors. Especially, since people’s origin is such an important part of their identity.”
In his talk Bilal tells us more about his experiences, the culture clash, and how it impacted him. “I want to encourage people to be brave, open up more, and work together.” Bilal is an 18 year old typical Dutch youngster who also has Moroccan
nationality. He is a technical business student, with a strong interest for
