My daughter attended 2010 to 2013 and it was an awesome experience. Forever grateful for the wonderful education she received.

I did a crazy thing and transferred to UM as a senior. Best decision I ever made. Of course UM was way different when I went there. The new student center wouldn’t be built for a few years, they were getting ready to start building new housing, the School of Communication got its first building at the end of my last year there, and the basketball arena was starting construction.

Having spent three years living on campus at an out of state school, I can tell you that UM was definitely a good experience. For those that don’t like the food in the dining halls, I can honestly tell you that the food at UM is much better than at other schools. I had a dining plan for a semester, and it was five star dining compared to the other school I attended.

Of course, I can’t really speak to the campus housing. Since Miami is my hometown, I chose to commute to campus and live at home.

Miami seems like a great school! Speaking of the social aspect, if someone does not have much money, is it hard for them to fit in? You mentioned going into the various parts of the city, are you limited in doing so if all of your money is going into the school?

Is the stereotype true that most students are rich and spend more time in Parties and don’t care that much in academics ?

I regret transferring from UM so much 🥲
To the highschool seniors considering it - go there

Edit: As she said though, only go here if that's where your heart tells you to go. That's where my heart told me to go and I had a great time. Other, exterior reasons caused me to transfer, but my heart still wants to be in Miami. Trust your gut feeling.
