Meinl Cymbal Tuners

CUSTOMIZE THE TONE OF YOUR CYMBALS
Designed in close cooperation with Meinl artist Benny Greb, these magnetic Cymbal Tuners offer an easy way to tweak the sound of your cymbals. Simply place the magnets on the cymbals (mated top and bottom). By positioning the Cymbal Tuners in different spots on the surface, you can control the sustain, dampen the tone, adjust the volume, and optimize the sound of your cymbal to just the way you like it.

practical and beautiful way to damp a cymbal. can't get why it took so long, finally no more glue on the cymbals after using tape to damp them in the studio. awesome, benny and meinl!

I normally don't bite on weird little accessories like this, but I tried these and they actually work well. Fully behind these.

This is one of the greatest drum gizmos I've ever seen. To be able to dry up a washy cymbal is just awesome

i know it's been a while since this video was posted, but here's my opinion.
Bought them to play with same cymbal setup in bands/projects i don't want my cymbals to sound loud af, but changed my ideas very quickly and i'm using them always now
Playing with it on a k crash ride 21" and a a custom 20" crash so they don't sound way higher than when i'm playing my ride actually like a ride... xD . Only use them on the bell, so they don't cut all the sound, only a bit, and it's exactly what i needed. They never fall off when playing, and i already crashed the hell out of the k custom with the small one atached, so the "weaker" one, and even if not in the bell, none of them falls. Hope i helped xD

so they're dampeners not tuners...there is a difference. tune refers to pitch, these only affect the sustain

At first I was like 😏😏😏

But then I was like 😧😧😧

These would probably work on drums too seeing as the skins are thinner than the metal. Have you tried a few on a snare head before you put it on ?

Advertised as "tuners" and then demonstrate various levels of dampening...
so cymbal dampening NOT tuning.

I can't see why meinl even went all the way with this idea.
They should charge no more than $10 for this stuff, they are just magnets.

a classier version of the moon-gel-on-a-cymbal approach I like it

The Track played during the video is "Mrs Thomas" from Benny's new "Grebfruit 2" Album.

Well i bought 3 cymbal tuners, and it's good if you don't have cymbals too fine, with my hex evolution cymbals, the magnets gones, and also with my paiste signature ride. You have too restrain your sticks...
Waiting for a really good solution... Bit, Benny, i continue to love your way to drum!!

Ok that's very I'm sick of my moon gel always getting messed up and this just solved the problem! AA Meinl - awesome job!, David Curtis

To anyone considering these, they may seem gimmicky but they're actually super useful and they definitely help you dial in sounds. I've been using them for recordings and they work great.

I ever put this tuner on my ride cymbal, and after few weeks when I try to tune other situations of cymbal. I found out that my cymbal it seems got stain ! it seems just like Oxidation rust on it. May I ask that could be happening like that ? Or does anyone happened like me ? thanks

Whoa!!! why haven't I heard of this? So this eliminates the need for cymbal dampeners? 😮😮😮
