Parent Coaching: Decreasing Demands

Love this video with Renee about decreasing demands when it comes to communication. We're talking through a video that we watched back during one of our sessions. Subtle tweaks in our language can invite children to communicate instead of us constantly telling them what to do. I give Renee a little homework assignment at the end of our session to build awareness on how many demands she is giving. I asked her to watch back some of the videos she's sent me. This is one of the many powers of videos--- instead of telling communication partners what to do, we can guide them to spot areas within themselves to improve upon.
