Explaning EQ: Fixing The Tone of a Vocal Recording - VoxFX Ep. 16

In this tutorial, I talk about audio timbre (0:31), explain what an Equalizer (EQ) does (1:17), the various controls on a standard EQ (2:00), how to use it to alter your vocal tone (4:35), and some general EQ pointers (11:28). EQ's are awesome. If your favorite plugin was just based on how often you used it, this would be mine. I use an EQ on pretty much every track in my mix; they're that powerful. Part 14 of my "Getting a Great Vocal Sound" series.

You probably have no idea how glad I am that you actually addressed the point eq with a purpose! It's something I had to ask myself as well, like do I really eq to make it sound better or just for the sake of equalizing? And also in general a video I agree with everything you said 100%! Good job man! :)

great tutorial :D helps a lot. but you should try to avoid talking at the same time as music is playing. And I really. *really* hope in the future you'll use a differen't example song. something that you would actually release as a song it makes it come accross more serious. I can imagine a lot of people will periodically be loling at the "My favourite piizza topings" line with the extremely happy tune. I don't know I'd use a more seriouse example.
(also I image that future vocal FX tutorials would become really boring if that song will always stay the same)
