Pray every day for the souls in purgatory. Make it a part of your daily prayer routine ✨🙏✨

Time, as we know it, does not exist after death. We shall be in the "intermediate state" as long as necessary. No more, no less. These types of discussions are like angels dancing on the head of a pin. Let's just strive to do the best we can with this life first..

Hebrews 9:27
Just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment

I’ve pre-enrolled in the expedited 10 year plan, with time off for good behavior.

How do we compare our concept of time with time in eternety?

I don’t know how anyone can determine how long a soul remains in purgatory based on human perception of time, which is no longer relevant after death.

And so confession doesn’t really work? What about the scapular automatic ticket to heaven trick? I guess the catholic rules are a bit confusing at times.

WOULD WE KNOW TIME IN PURGATRY TIME WOULD BE IRRELEVANT, FOR OUR SOULS, THATS WHY WE MUST PRAY FOR THIOSE WHO HAVE GO ON BEFORE US , ITS UP TO US
WE ARE ALL SINERS , EVERY ONE AMEN

Read the blessed mother told a visionary the average time in purgatory is 40 years. Exodus is a type of purgatory don’t you think.

My question is, how do we know that those visions are truly visions of the people they claim to be? Because what we know for sure, is that
'... even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.' - 2 Corinthians 11:14

Say the" soul's of purgatory prayer "
to release of their soul .

Seems like a majority of people will be in Purgatory regardless of Salvation by Christ.

Does purgatory exist, that "in Roman Catholic doctrine, the place in which the souls remain until they have expiated their sins before they go to heaven" ?(Microsoft Encarta Reference Library 2005) What happens at death ? Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6 reads according to the Catholic Douay Version:

"For the living know that they shall die, but the dead know nothing more, neither have they a reward any more: for the memory of them is forgotten. Their love also, and their hatred, and their envy are all perished, neither have they any part in this world, and in the work that is done under the sun."

So, when a person dies, they cease to exist, knowing nothing at all, in which all their desires has come to an end. At Psalms 145:2-4, it reads according to the Catholic Douay Version: "Put not your trust in princes: In the children of men, in whom there is no salvation."

"His spirit (or life force) shall go forth (or leaves and ceases, like turning off the electricity from an appliance, so that it "dies" and will not function again until the power is turned back on), and he shall return into his earth (or decays, returning to the elements of the earth, as God told Adam, "from dust you are and to dust you will return", Gen 3:19): in that day all their thoughts shall perish (or shuts down, stops)."

At Psalms 104:29, it reads according to the Catholic Douay Version: "But if thou (or God) turnest away thy face, they shall be troubled: thou shalt take away their breath (or stop breathing), and they shall fail (or die), and shall return to their dust (decaying back into the ground)."

So, there is NO purgatory (and in which there is also NO immortal soul, see Lev 23:30, whereby the soul can be destroyed, Deut 12:20, whereby the soul eats, Jer 2:34, whereby the soul bleeds, see James 5:20, whereby the soul dies and Isa 53:12, in which Jesus "delivered his soul unto death") but when a person dies, they cease to exist, "and shall return to their dust", just as anything that eventually breaks down and becomes "dust". Only when a person is in God's memory can they see life again, just as the apostle Peter said of Jesus, according to the Catholic Douay Version:

"Foreseeing this, he spoke of the resurrection ("resurrection", Greek anastasis, meaning "to stand up again" in life) of Christ (who was dead for three days, being non-existent, see Matt 12:40). For neither was he left in hell (or Greek hades, meaning "the grave", and NOT a fiery place of eternal torment that does NOT exist, see Rev 20:13, where "hell (or hades) gave up the dead in it"), neither did his flesh see corruption. This Jesus hath God raised again, whereof all we are witnesses."

The Catholic Church cannot definitively state how long souls remain in Purgatory due to the nature of this state of purification. Scripture provides limited insight, with 1 Corinthians 3:15 suggesting a purifying process without specifying duration. Church tradition, as reflected in the Catechism, describes Purgatory as a "purification" that occurs before entering heaven, but does not assign a specific timeframe. The Magisterium, through various theologians and Church leaders, has emphasized the uncertainty of Purgatory's duration. St. Robert Bellarmine stated that the matter is "most uncertain, and can only rashly be delimited". Furthermore, Pope Benedict XVI described Purgatory as a state rather than a place, making it difficult to measure in earthly terms of time. The Church maintains that Purgatory's duration varies for each soul based on their attachment to sin at death, rendering a universal timeline impossible to establish.

We are in purgatory now. Besides only God knows what’s happening the rest of this is a guess. My faith is in God not man.
