FILM DESCRIPTION:
Directed by Taylor Hackford, this biopic profiles the life of legendary musician Ray Charles. Despite humble beginnings and the loss of his eyesight due to glaucoma at the age of six, Charles, depicted by Jamie Foxx, would nonetheless become an icon in both the music industry and the civil rights era. While the film delves into his problems with drugs and women, the bulk of the story details his career; among the highlights of that career are 12 Grammy awards and 11 R&B chart-toppers, such as "Unchain My Heart," "Hit the Road, Jack," "Georgia," "Doin' the Mess Around," and "Hallelujah I Just Love Her So." Also among the cast are Larenz Tate as Quincy Jones, as well as Regina King, Kerry Washington, and Clifton Powell. Charles' son, Ray Charles Jr. helped produce the film.

People tend to forget how ray was treated alot in the movie. Simply because he was blind people tried to take advantage of him. He takes it serious because those words of his mother are drilled into his head. "you may be goin blind, but you ain't stupid."

They both were wrong....Ray was wrong for not taking care of his friend & ol boy was wrong for going behind his back instead of coming to him and letting him know how he felt about the way he was being treated.

When a thief tries to play innocent and pretends that justice will be out for the person who "did them wrong" for not allowing them to continue to steal. Sounds familiar nowadays.

If you listen to the commentary on the movie, Director Taylor Hackford says that this scene was one of the more controversial scenes of the movie because it was alleged that Jeff stole from Ray when there's no concrete evidence. Jeff Brown and those who knew him swear he never stole from Ray. However, Ray Charles to his dying day believed Jeff stole but we'll never know the answer! But Ray Charles was a tough businessman and reneged on some promises he made to Jeff! But at the end of the day we will never know what really happened!
