As soon as I saw that it was Oversplits, my first thought was, “yeah, cause you’re jacked.” 😂

I have treated so many older gymnasts with pain from hyper-flexible joints.
Sending you love and hope that your articulations remain stable over the years. Please be gentle. Your whole community loves you.

That's a really good thing!! It means you're treating your body right and not hyperflexing, and you'll definitely thank yourself for it in a couple of decades

I had a dance instructor who taught us that anyone can work to increase their flexibility to get the splits on either side. It takes time, but it is possible. The center splits, however, are 100% dependent on your bone structure. Not everyone's bone structures allow for center splits, no matter how long you work and stretch to improve.

As a contortionist and circus artist I just want to say it’s really funny when gymnasts try to do things that require a heavy amount of flexibility Lol 😂

Ah 😅 well it’s actually good that your not a noodle - I’m a contortionist & also hyper mobile & cannot do dynamic things (and when I do I struggle for dear life 🤣). First, if you’re too bendy, it’s not good for impact/dynamic skills required in most gymnastics and second, I’m sure you could get your splits! It’s just about doing it correctly every day (as my Mongolian coach told me once, one day off splits is fine but not more 😆)

That oversplit is super high! You need to give yourself some credit for how high that is and how close you got!!❤

I appreciate your honesty. It's important for women, and all people, to be able to acknowledge that we have limitations and that's okay! It's not about having a perfect body, it's about working with what we've got to reach our goals!

I have extended ligaments leading to knee instability. My knees hurt so much just seeing you put body weight on them while extended. That would no joke dislocate my knees instantly. And then you bounced 💀

As someone who is hyper mobile without trying, it is more of pain than you’d think. Literally

Different note, but I LOVE the move you do at the beginning where you’re up in the air, your back is arched, and your arms are out in a T position. I have no idea what it’s called, but it looks so cool and you look so happy doing it! 😊

I’ve always said there are two types of gymnasts: the flexible ones and the strong ones. The strong one struggle to become flexible and the flexible ones struggle to become strong enough. It’s rare for someone to be naturally both.

Don’t force your splits like that please 😭 I got a muscle tear because I forced mine a bit too much right after I finally got it, and now I’m back to square 1 and can’t even do over 90° without pain
