I am writing this before you give your opinion on the board. But I'd say it looked good under your feet. You seemed comfortable with it and you were able to make some nice turns with it. You made it look fun. Makes me want to get another fish. I had a 5'3" fish hand made by Kalu Colletta and that thing was amazing. I sold it some time back to get something else. I shoulda kept it. I learned my lesson. Probably have him make another! You should take both fishes out on a good day there and surf them both in the same session and get a good comparison. Just a thought. Keep it up.

That’s such weird rails to have on a retro fish! They should be pretty much 50/50 from the front just above the wide and start tapering to hard. I can see why it paddles so terribly. You still surfed it great though! You need to try a proper retro lis/skip fish, you’d love it !

looks like you're surfing it too much off the tail. weight should be a bit more forward to get the board skimming faster before you turn. when you figure out how to get more speed out onto the shoulder and keep it through the turn you will be ready for the small fish grasshopper.
