If politicians were paid minimum wage and not allowed to take gifts or do insider-trading I guarantee you it would go up.

If you paid these politicians on merit most would live below the poverty level !

Anybody in government who claims to be knowledgeable in food and nutrition is a joke. (And that includes most doctors as well.)

They just made the undersecretary eligible for snap benefits.

People that don’t do their jobs should not be paid and then be fired.

And, speaking as someone from her side of politics, it was BOTH republicans and democrats who bowed to the will of corporations and sent jobs overseas and gutted not just excellent jobs, but just good, solid jobs. Just so incredibly wealthy people could make even more money.

You can’t stand there and say, “if you don’t work, you don’t eat” unless you bring the jobs back and the pay is commensurate to the absolutely astronomically ludicrous rent that corporate landlords are allowed to charge. You can’t have it both ways.

Why are we allowing the state of California and the governor of California to put an extra tax on the second amendment guns and bullets a very fundamental right that everyone has? I thought I would throw that in there since some people are bumbling.

All elected officials should get ONLY room and board. They are there to serve the people, NOT themselves.

How does this work because the salary would be under federal minimum wage? Couldn’t she sue?

They should punish bad behaviors by government officials

Its a start but she needs to be fired after a backpay of her salary and put it in tax rebates to those of us that work for a living forced to struggle every month because to drive to work now costs 350 dollars a month!
