Bertucci A-2T Titanium tactical field watch review | The most Hardcore field watch around!

This is a review of the Bertucci A-2T titanium field watch.

This titanium field watch that has a slew of features that make it the king of the hill as far as a military tough, get it done tool watch.

It is 200 meter / 20bar water resistant like a dive watch.
It comes with a milspec Zulu strap strap
The titanium case has Integrated spring bars so it’s impossible for them to break.
It has a sapphire crystal in raised bezel that protect the crystal from impact.
It has a quartz movement powered by a lithium battery that last 10+ years For worry free day-to-day use.

Overall this is an amazing military and law-enforcement field watch that will last just about anything you throw at it.

I've been wearing the original A-2T for, oh, 8 years now. Swapped out the strap a couple of times as the nylon tends to fray and accrue stains over the years. Smell too, so you may have to wash it in the sink now and then. The watch, now battle-scarred, is still going strong as I expected when I bought it. The 'Tactical' is definitely an improvement over my original: a sapphire vs mineral crystal, rated for 200m water resistance vs 100m, and takes a larger lithium button battery where the first iteration uses a 621 battery which I usually get about 2 years out of. Other than that it appears to the same as the original.

A few comments: thick leather straps don't work well with A-2T, becoming permanently deformed; go with simple Zulu straps, NATO's unnecessarily stack the watch on the wrist; there is NO way this watch is leaving your body with the original nylon strap unless your hand is severed; corroborating: adjusting date/time is is vague and imprecise, but never had a problem with it; a nice touch is the battery requirements are etched on the case back (the review would've benefited by a close-up of the back sans strap) and I've swapped them out a few times over the years without trouble.

One of the great things about titanium is that it’s hypoallergenic as well. I picked up this watch because of its durability, reviews, and the fact that I’m allergic to nickel. Titanium is one of the few options for me and this fits the bill for a field watch for me. Nice review, 40mm x 48mm and 11 mm thick by my callipers. Weight is super light when you get it off the strap it comes on and into a single pass leather or better yet single pass seatbelt material. Good job, look forward to seeing other reviews.

I own two of these and love them. One has the nylon web band with a compass (added by me) and the other has a leather band, which I use as my dress up time piece. I bought a third (polymer) watch for my son (Army), and he loves it as well. Five things that are the sales clinchers for me, are: 1) solid titanium case w/screw down titanium back; 2) the offset (lowered) protected crystal (since I wear the watch on the inside of my wrist, I tend to crack the crystals more, but not since wearing a Bertucci for three plus years); 3) solid lugs; 4) a screw down crown that is at the 4 o'clock rather than the 3 o'clock position; 5) a quartz movement. These five points out way any perceived negatives...

I like these types of watches I’ve seen a Hamilton that resembles this one and has the same characteristics with the numbers I guess I’m old fashioned with this point and can’t find many like them!!!! Thanks for sharing this information with us!!!

Thanks for your review. Ended up with a A-4T Super Yankee model, mainly because of size. ( A 40mm watch is too small for me.) Basically the same watch with some upgrades, like Swiss movement (which BTW, still don't line-up) hardened Sapphire crystal, etc. Found it on Amazon with 50% off, so it was a no-brainer. This is my introduction to Bertucci watches, and I like it so far. I have a Hamilton Khaki field in my collection and even though it has "prettier" finishes, I love the toughness and rough feeling of the Bertucci. Definitely a great watch for the money!

I recently purchased an a 2t vintage from Amazon and am very disappointed with it. Right out the box, the second hand does not hit the index marks. Then I checked the accuracy of the time: the first two days it seemed to be perfect; then on the third day it seemed to lose two whole seconds, this was right after I had ridden my bicycle with it on a bumpy road. I tapped hard with my finger on the side of the case and the second hand seemed to stand still for a split second. I tapped repeatedly and it lost over 15 seconds immediately. Everything else on the watch is great, but it cannot be trusted to keep time if it gets bumped. I am not going to spend another penny on it by returning it and will use it, knowing that I will have to monitor it for this problem.

Great review on a great watch. I will say the whole " military issued" is the biggest ongoing joke for anyone who has served. Most of the stuff we were issued was CRAP. Try and stay away from that saying in the future if possible.
