It's over. 🙏🚗🏎🚘

The final episode of *The Grand Tour*, titled 'One for the Road' , brought an emotional conclusion to an epic journey for Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond. This finale on Amazon Prime symbolized not just the end of a series but also the end of an era for a trio that has dominated the world of automotive entertainment for decades. Clarkson, often seen as the loud, unapologetic, and quick-witted leader of the group, was visibly more reflective, marking the significance of this closing chapter.

'One for the Road' followed the familiar format that has made 'The Grand Tour' and previously 'Top Gear' a fan-favorite. The episode showcased epic road trips, beautiful landscapes, and plenty of mechanical mishaps that have always been a core part of the show. The three hosts embarked on one last journey filled with cars, banter, and chaos that viewers have come to expect, but the episode was layered with a sense of finality. There was a sense that this was more than just another challenge or adventure — it was a goodbye.

Clarkson's emotional response at the end of the episode was a sharp contrast to his usual bravado. While the show is known for its humorous, often outrageous moments, this final chapter took on a more sentimental tone as Clarkson acknowledged the incredible journey that had spanned more than two decades. Reflecting on his career alongside James May and Richard Hammond, Clarkson seemed to realize the significance of their shared history, from the early days of 'Top Gear' to the global success of 'The Grand Tour'. His eyes welled up as he expressed his gratitude for the fans who had followed them on their journey, making it clear that this was more than just the end of a show — it was the end of an era of their lives.

Clarkson, Hammond, and May’s partnership began in the early 2000s when they revamped the BBC's *Top Gear*, turning a modest car show into a worldwide phenomenon. The chemistry between the three presenters, with Clarkson’s bombastic personality, Hammond’s excitable nature, and May’s more reserved and intellectual approach, proved to be a winning formula. Together, they transformed 'Top Gear' into one of the most-watched factual TV shows globally, garnering millions of fans.

After Clarkson’s infamous exit from 'Top Gear' in 2015 following a highly publicized altercation with a BBC producer, the trio made a seamless transition to Amazon Prime with 'The Grand Tour'. With Amazon’s deep pockets backing them, Clarkson, May, and Hammond were able to take their ambitious automotive adventures to new heights, producing some of the most extravagant and exciting content of their careers. However, the final episode, 'One for the Road', brought that chapter to a close. The camaraderie between the three presenters was evident throughout the episode, with their signature mix of competition and camaraderie underscoring their deep friendship.

Though *The Grand Tour* may have come to an end, Clarkson’s career continues to flourish in new and unexpected ways. His transition into farming with *Clarkson's Farm* has been a resounding success. The show, which debuted on Amazon Prime in 2021, chronicles Clarkson’s attempt to run Diddly Squat Farm, a 1,000-acre farm in the Cotswolds. The show quickly became a fan favorite, offering a different side of Clarkson. Instead of the fast cars and globe-trotting adventures he is known for, 'Clarkson’s Farm' showcased his struggles and triumphs as a novice farmer, with plenty of humor and heartfelt moments along the way.

Integral to the success of 'Clarkson’s Farm' has been his relationship with his farmhand, Kaleb Cooper, who has become a breakout star in his own right. Cooper’s no-nonsense approach and his ability to keep Clarkson in line added a new dynamic to the show. Alongside Kaleb, other characters like Gerald Cooper, known for his unintelligible yet endearing speech, and Clarkson’s partner, Lisa Hogan, have made 'Clarkson’s Farm' a charming and entertaining hit, resonating with viewers beyond the typical petrolhead crowd.

The success of *Clarkson’s Farm* demonstrates Clarkson’s ability to reinvent himself while staying true to his brand of entertainment. As he bids farewell to his long-running automotive career with *The Grand Tour*, Clarkson is finding new ways to connect with audiences. His ventures into farming, along with his recent purchase of 'The Farmer’s Dog' pub, highlight his desire to continue exploring new challenges.

In conclusion, the final episode of 'The Grand Tour' marked the end of an era for Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond, a trio whose on-screen chemistry has captivated audiences for over two decades. Clarkson’s emotional response in the episode was a testament to the significance of their journey together. While Clarkson continues to thrive with projects like 'Clarkson’s Farm', the impact of his work with May and Hammond will remain a cherished part of television history.

Growing up, they have fueled my car passion. I've watched all their episodes on top gear and the gran tour. I watched their last episode yesterday. It was emotional to see them return to the Inception. Seeing the cars of their first African adventure. Where it all began. I remember meeting Hammond at a car festival at Goodwood 2 years ago, he was standing by Oliver. made me feel a little emotional.

Knowing they will retire was always at the back of my head. Now that my heroes retired I feel like a friend died. Next year there won't be a new show with "the boys". What will fuel my car passion and sense of adventure? I think it's time to step into their shoes and adventure myself around the world in my own cars.

Will be dearly missed. Its because of these 3 musketeers that from a young boy i learnt so much that i achived so much in my career & knowledge that i achived more than i imagined & all the cars i ever wanted & drove & have been & done it all. Tv magazines rebuilds tunning racing & doing top speeds in super cars to classics all maintained by me. Some of my favourites were the golfs he did & the audi RS . I was there when hammond had his jet car crash at 200mph & met them all at hospital + mindy his wife & at ther shows. On the very runway Hammond crashed his jet car that changed his life i drove my audi rs at nearly 175mph on the same runway. Its scarey but where professionals. See u soon Clarkson at ur home land

Now I’ve witnessed the big guy tearing up with the enormity of a magnificent achievement mixed with the sadness of ending, I feel no shame in admitting to having ‘blubbed’ myself.

Even though you know something’s coming, the emotional impact catches you out.

Lisa’s no doubt saying “for God’s sake you eejut, it’s a car show, now you can concentrate on the farm!”

☺️

Thanks guys.

It’s been emotional.

My 10 year old son cried for 10 mins at the end of the show, and I must admit I had a bit of a boo too. Thanks for many wonderful, funny adventures you have shared. Thanks you three and your magnificent back up crews for 17 years of pure brilliance. Please remain friends! 😂
