Step by step guide to achieving highest performance:

1. Update your graphic card driver, choose your driver from the list below:

10. FIX: start a new game, exit after character creation to main menu, try loading into previous saves now.

Process Lasso Tip:
-The red lines in process lasso indicate your CPU usage, the blue dotted line indicates your RAM usage. It will graph your computer's usage while you play, you can always check this to see how your system is holding up. If your RAM or CPU are constantly maxed they could be bottlenecking performance.

Crash Fixes:
- Restart your computer and launch fallout as your first application.
- Try launching the game 2-3 times.
- Try disabling vysnc, download link in step 4.

For anyone who can't find the gaming mode settings in Process Lasso, it's now known as Performance Mode settings. Just go to it on the options menu and click on "Designate High Performance Processes ... ". Then you can continue following the steps from there.

Thanks for posting this!! I've tried all sorts of .ini fixes - the ULG patch, the config tool and some others but none of them got me an acceptable FPS rate. Using your guide, I'm getting ~30FPS both indoors and outdoors which I previously thought was impossible. So good job on this and thank you for posting. If you've got more guides for other new games, I'd love to see them.

This is probably going to blow up my Surface Pro 2 but I'm still SUPER impressed that this is possible with such a portable solution. Basically handheld Fallout4!

To fix crashing you will have to edit windows registry once your in Navigate to the graphics portion of the registry and make a new d-word file within called TdrLevel Make sure that the value is set to zero than relaunch fallout 4. The crash should be fixed.

So i followed everything and it actually worked, getting 30+ fps when previously i couldnt break 7... however there are SEVERE graphic glitches that reduce the visibility to almost none. What i mean is that there are random textures stretched in random spaces across the map.

Ive done everything i could think of, even doing a 100% reinstall of the game

I followed all instructions to the letter and even did what Joshua Forbes said to do, and still when I hit "New", the screen goes to loading, and crashes after 15-20 seconds, saying my graphics card stopped responding and has been recovered. Any help?

finally after 20 hours got it to run smoothly.. on 400x300 resolution ;-; . Lags like hell even in 640x480. Intel HD Graphics, 4 GB ram, 4x2, 17 Intel Pentium.

Another importante shit is to install windows 10 and add all the new drivers of hd 4600, with 8.1 have lags
