Such a pleasant guy, not bitter at all and takes responsibility for his existence lol

He signed a contract, the contract he signed was for the money he agreed to be paid! If you sign an agreement by law and you accept the terms and conditions to be paid an amount there’s no breach of contract. Tony Mortimer owns the rights to his writings so by law is entitled to be paid royalties etc. No law has been broken here I’m afraid

Wow isn't he bitter!
And he does care that's why he won't let it go.
He has no rights if he didn't write the songs.

I work as an engineer for NHS and I don’t have £400 in my bank account 😂
Makes me wonder why I bother working!

Because you didn't write any of the songs thats why you hate tony mortimer because he had the writing talent you were just a front man for an average band everyone has moved on with their lives maybe you should you have no right to any imput on the work tony mortimer produced sad man

Brian was paid more than £2 million. He could have burned through a million and banked the rest which would have given him a fat monthly wage for the rest of his life. But he blew it all on his addiction to jacket potatoes.

Brian. You have to understand that you got paid for performances, live and singing on record. You probably get a small royalties for the songs being played on the radio, Spotify etc. The main royalties ALWAYS GO TO THE PERSON WHO WROTE THEM. The likes of SWEET and the BAY CITY ROLLERS get fuck all as they never wrote the songs, just a performance royalties. My ex was a BENNY HILL ANGEL. Every year she got around £300 for her appearance on the shows repeats. Benny Hill got all the money and the BBC/ITV

Brian leaves out that he could perform now and make living but doesnt want to and big enough royalties would also kick him off benefits.

Its mostly complaining but he made this bed by 1. Leaving his plumbing apprenticeship asking to be a wage earning dancer in a new band 2. Stating loudly during the two biggest albums of that "band" that he didn't want to write as thats Tony's job despite knowing full well thats where the long term money comes from.

Does anyone really think that if they wrote E17 Resurrection, wrote "Solo", sang with Wyclef, sang with TruSteppers, toured as East 17 from 2002-2010 etc that they wouldn't invest money, wouldn't outright buy a flat etc and would be as broke and reliant on benefits as Brian ? Most of us have never had the lump sums he has or never had our accounts go into 5 digits for more than a day but have to budget everything and so arent stupid enough to get uber eats or coffee delivery except ij exceptional circumstances where we are short for time or have been away and returned in the evening to an empty fridge and pantry.

How, after over 30 years, does Brian not understand that the record company and the songwriters & composers get the lion share of the royalties? If you didn't write any of the songs, which you didn't, then you are only going to receive a performance fee because you essentially only performed someone else's song. Harsh, but true.

Lyrics
[Verse 1]
Don't you worry, cos it's alright
Don't you worry, child of the night
Cos in the morning
Come with the new day sun
Love - an everlasting light

[Refrain]
We are the seed of the new breed
We'll succeed our time has come
We are the new
These words are true
Let the light of love shine through

[Pre-Chorus]
It's alright
It's alright
It's alright
It's really alright
It's alright
It's really alright

[Chorus]
Alright, alright
Everything's gonna be alright
Alright, alright
Everything's gonna be alright
Alright, alright
Everything's gonna be alright
Alright, alright it's ready alright.
