Blue Jackets Honour Johnny Gaudreau By Starting Game With No Left Winger

Watch as the Columbus Blue Jackets honour Johnny Gaudreau by taking the opening faceoff of their home opener with no left winger and allowing 13 seconds to elapse off the clock along with a standing ovation by all the fans inside Nationwide Arena.

Tonight’s tribute was something special. A moment I will never forget. I’m still choked up 😢. I feel so awful for the family, but it warms my heart Blue Jackets put on a heart warming tribute of Johnny for the Gaudreau’s. You boys will never be forgotten, gone way too soon, but what an incredible legacy left behind. A legacy that many could only dream of.

What a beautiful tribute to Johnny Columbus put on tonight. This isn't the last time we'll see a Gaudreau on NHL ice. I think in 20-22 years from now we'll all get to watch the return of Johnny Hockey. Rest easy #13.

Such a classy way to pay tribute to a great player. I had the good fortune to see a few of his games in his rookie season in Calgary. He was a very talented player and so much fun to watch especially when he got a goal.

As a Habs fan it still breaks my heart thinking what happened to the Gaudreau brothers. We will always remember Johnny hockey and is brother for the class act of Cole Caulfield changing is number 22 for number 13 on is jersey for remembrance of Johnny. R.I.P Gaudreau brothers.
