Just remember that in the journey to achieve our own style, we can often get influenced by trends. So, something that seems dated right now from 2017 or whenever, might catch our eye again in a couple of years. I’ve just learned this from my experience, where I felt I needed to be ruthless when clearing my wardrobe, only to regret getting rid of things that simply weren’t for “right now”

I used to be a 100% ballet flat girl. Like, there was no other shoe that I would consider for a daily use between end of April--early October. And suddenly they were super OUT. No one was wearing them, no one was selling them. Was very difficult to find a pretty pair in a physical shoe store and online stores weren't rich on them either. And I got rid of them because I was still more in a "not trendy=outdated" mindset instead of acknowledging that ballet flats have been a part of my PERSONAL style that I was so afraid of having back in the day.. i am glad that they are back in and it was super easy to get myself a decent pair with a timeless aspect to them (something between square and round toe, but really it's neither nor), this time i am keeping them no matter what. because this time i want to be easily recognised by being "that one always wearing ballet flats". much wow much growth i know haha. thank you for the video <3

I love the lack of perfection and happiness to evolve in this video - feels so relatable and like a chat with a genuine friend <3

Use alcohol hand-sanitiser on ink stains! I had a pen burst on my trousers and rubbed hand sanitiser in, let it sit for a few hours, then washed. Ink stain came out!

The treatment was done as soon as I spotted the stain so can’t say if it works on older stains, but worked a treat on my one

A style system that really helped me figure out where I want to go with my personal style was Ellie Jean Royden's Style Roots system. It helped me figure out the simular elements of the looks and aesthetics I liked so I could combine them in to something that felt like me, rather than something that felt like like a costume.

I loved how introspective this was - I also found that combining elements of my life into my style was the best way to feel like me. for the longest time, I had sections in my closet for different situations, but then I realized that they were all part of me. so even just mixing them or mixing elements really helped.
thank you for putting it into words and being my forever hair inspo

I totally get what you mean about your “natural assets” hindering your shot at androgyny. I always say that I basically dress in menswear 90% of the time. I’m fairly androgynous in my style but because of my midsize to plus size body and boobies (!!) I am just never going to be seen that way.

absolutely loooove all of your clothing content. my style is the complete opposite to yours but I just love hearing you talk about fashion and clothing and outfits and it gives me so much inspiration for my own wardrobe!!

Second time I'm watching this video in full because there's so much to love. The editing, the music, Lucy's voice. BUT - there's so much I relate to. I, at almost 28, have also I think finally discovered my style and I've gone through a few versions in my 20s. And I look back like, what a shame I've only really found what works for me now, and it's so comforting to see Lucy going through the same. And you have to go through all those versions to achieve your own style.

i looove love love that you're including more androgynous pieces and mixing fem and slightly more masculine clothes together. I have a very similar, curvy body shape and a round face and I feel like you're on to something
I feel refreshed and inspired just watching this👀

i’ve always had a very personal style - people have described it as “weird” and “funny-looking” which i honestly love and wear like a badge of honour, since i live in the countryside (i guess if i lived in a big city like london people wouldn’t look at me twice, but still) - it’s very eclectic which i love. anyway i realised lately that if i had to give it a name it would be “off-duty wizard” 🧙🏻

This was such a relaxing and eye opening video. I’ve been struggling with fluctuating weight this year and so I feel like my wardrobe is just not where it needs to be. But while watching your video I decided to pull everything out. Give it a healthy wash because some things have been hanging for so long and assess if I even like them before the went in the wash. I feel so much lighter and I can’t wait to start a new wardrobe where I feel happy with it. Thank you for the motivation ❤

honestly i love juxtaposing soft and more structured/'hard' styles too- in regards to the glasses, i have a super soft face too and realised that larger frames kinda emphasise that BUT i got black rectangular frames recently and it added that sharpness which i adored & i saw you with a pair similar on your insta story a couple weeks ago and they suited u so well!! ⭐

Hey Lucy! The white dress that you tailored is so pretty, I think it just needs straps to hold the top of it up so it doesn’t look funny. When you pull it up in the video you can tell it would look fab with that support.

It’s always amazing how a wardrobe declutter can help us discover our true style! Love the personal touches you're adding to your pieces. Keep shining! 🌟

I was just watching the video because it's fun and inspires me to go through my wardrobe and actually appriciate the pieces I've got when I heard you casually mentioning, you donated a chunk of the Vinted money to Gaza, and I just want to say a double thank you, first for donating, and second for mentioning it so others will be motivated to donate as well <3

Finally a YouTuber seeing Gaza and mentioning it openly. Makes me like you more for being a caring human. 😊💕
Also, such a relatable video. I too think my style has evolved a lot lately.

this is perfect timing, I'm currently sorting out my wardrobe and this is so helpful to decide what to keep and why!! :)

My technique when trying to decide if a skirt is too short is to force myself to wear it on three different occasions. If I'm still self consciously worrying about how much is showing, or constantly tugging it down/adjusting it by the third wear, it has to go.
