@14:00 R--->R defined as f(x)= (x+1)^3/(x-1)^3 is not not a valid function of R--->R for x=1.

On problem number 5 around the 17:36 mark, you have x = 1+3rdroot(y)/3rdroot(y)-1 and you said that this was true for all real numbers, but when y is equal to 1 x is undefined. Am i missing something? Either way this really helped me study for my Discrete Math Final

I have a question. In the 5th question the domain of the function is R, but if x=1 there is no y e R. Is this even a function?

Also, anyone in the comments. I am struggling with proving that sqrt(a) + sqrt(b) does not = sqrt(a+b) with logic.

I think (x+1)^3 / (x-1)^3 is only injective.
I don't think it is surjective.
