The Aurek is even noted for being used by Outer rim planets as defense fighters by the time of the empire. They were so abundant that the designer of the Jedi starfighters had his own one to test along side. The V Wing of the clone wars also shares very similar hull shape to it.

I just wonder how they kept the production/maintenance schematics available for 3000 (!!!) years. Then again, I guess the Star Wars Universe anyway has a certain continuity-problem when it comes to technology advancement... ;-)
