Try to switch roles. Max should do the prosthetics and elli should do the voiceover😂😂 love you ellimacs😘

I used your latex paste technique last Halloween to make a forehead prosthetic with horns, I only wish I'd known to use food coloring, because the painting took forever. Love your videos! Thank you !!

For a smoother prosthetic I used baby powder that result was similar to your rice flower result

Another texture to consider. ground coffee, and latex makes great scabs or road rash. Wish I could show you picture of when I did it. Latex always dried a lot darker than what you mix or see. I often color the latex a pastel green when doing zombie makeup as well.

One question I still have and that is how long does a prosthetic last using this method (expiration date?)

1 deciliter = about 2/3 of a cup, and 1/2 deciliter = 0.3333 of a cup so maybe like 2/4 cup.... I don’t know if that helps at all- but I would say general rule in this case if you don’t typically measure in deciliters would be to watch as you go and start off in small amounts. Work your way up until the consistency is ideal for you. Trial and error.

This video was super helpful! Could you do a video on how to paint the latex, applying the prosthetics and remove them? (If you haven't already) that would be really helpful because I just started doing this kind of stuff and really have no clue what I'm doing.

a little side note, my proffesor told me to never mix food with latex as it may cause fungus to appear. the same happend to me when i tried mixing latex with corn starch, it was a very difficult consistensy to work with and a day latter it was cover in fungus. also, mixing latex with granular salt makes a really cool texture but i takes up to week to dry as the salt keeps the latex from drying and it ends up loosing it's elasticity

I think the cornflour colour and texture is quite similar to the granular fat inside wounds....it hasn't dried yet but it looks pretty good when you mixed it.

One trick I’ve found works well to create blistered skin, individual warts, or just plain nasty looking lumpy textures is to glue Rice Krispies to the skin with the adhesive of your choice (my personal preference is for spirit gum) and then coat them in a thin layer of latex to seal and soften the surface and blend them into the surrounding area. Once dry, and given a foundation layer, you can get some really disgusting diseased looks when finished with makeup and, in particular, with thicker dark red liquid gore brushed on. Used this to good effect on a demon makeup for my daughter a couple of Halloweens ago, where this texture basically extended over most of her lower face from underneath a half mask that covered the upper part. It sticks well, lasts for hours, and doesn’t interfere with talking, eating or drinking at parties!

Just came across your video tutorials and I absolutely love them. Provides a very affordable and super easy way to make prosthetics without having to make moulds. A major big thanks for sharing these videos, I am now a subscriber, And will definitely be using these for my costumes.

Maybe try crushing the cornflakes, not into a powder but make it chunky but unrecognizable as cornflakes sometime. I might try it sometime too lol

This is definitely a great tutorial 👌 have to create a prosthetic for a final exam and have chosen to complicate my own life by choosing a sea creature, will also be following your shape of water tutorial for a base idea on where to even begin😅

I found that if flour is used it does after a lot of time grow moldy. I use 'latex filler' by Holden's and it is designed for thickening latex. It works perfectly. Flour works really well for prosthetics that will be used right away, but the latex filler works wonders if you need the prosthetic for use later down the road.
