iPhone 13 will have 120Hz displays on some models. Is it worth it if it comes at a cost of battery life or more? Thanks for watching, it is always appreciated.
Will you be buying an iPhone 13 model and if so, which one?

I’ve had pro motion display since 2017 iPad Pro and now the 2021 iPad Pro and I’ve used iPhones with 60hz display and I have zero problems going back and forth

Short answer: it’s worth it
Long answer: this whole video

I never noticed a difference between my 120hz iPad Pro and my 60hz iPhone 6S. The fluidity of iOS is what makes it feel smooth, regardless of framerate. Android generally feels gittery to me, so maybe that’s why android fans notice the difference so much.

Thanks, Aaron. You saved me the hassle of having to upgrade my 12 Pro Max. I don’t think a smaller notch and 120hz refresh rate justifies it (at least not to me), especially as the 13 won’t bring on-screen fingerprint sensor.

Honestly 120Hz literally doesn’t make any sort of appreciable difference to me on my iPad Pro compared to my 12 pro max. The way some people talk about it make it seem like 60Hz is literally unusable, but to me I can swap between the two constantly and it doesn’t even register to me that the iPad refreshes twice as fast. I honestly don’t care if scrolling is smoother because it already feels super smooth, the biggest thing I would want is the fact that it can ramp down to 48 or potentially even 1 for an always on display.

It’s worth it for people who has an older iPhone some years old like a 6-8 plus with that home button they could consider upgrading.

For sure it is! It's a game changer for me. My big mistake is that I actually bought an iPad Air, but after some time I thought "two speakers that I can mute with my hands and only 60hz is so bad" lol

Omg. This is the video I’ve been needing to help me decide. I’m so excited to see these revealed. Edit: I think I’m going for the 13 pro. 120hz looks so much better.

I agree there is a difference but I disagree that it’s a huge difference. I have a pro motion iPad Pro and I don’t find it all that compelling.

For me, it’s not a big selling point

One feature I loved on my S21 Ultra was the ability to create a sort to automation, I forget what it is called on OneUi, that will automatically reduce the refresh rate to 60hz when the battery drops below a certain percentage. It gives you a lot more SoT when you need it.

After watching the video, I was able to see a slight difference in smoothness between the refresh rate. However, it's not enough to really matter to me on a device as small as a phone. Where it would make a bigger difference for me is on an iMac, or even an iPad. Something that has a display large enough that I would use to do much reading, or anything that would be worth the difference. With the phone, it's either an occasional YouTube video, or making an uber trip, texting, phone calls, or remote controls for supported devices. Not usually the device i do a lot of detailed reading on.

Don’t forget that the 120Hz on the S20 was only available when the screen is in FHD where the max resolution was QHD

Apple in the other way have adaptive refresh rate with no resolution compromise.

touch sampling too are a bonus on top of high refresh rates

Totally worth it tbh. Ive been using a high refresh phone for about 2 months. My eyes hurt when I switch back😆

Apple couldve added 120 hz years ago… they just like releasing new features little by little to milk money out of its loyal consumers

I have a 2017 iPad Pro with Pro Motion and I use an iPhone X and to be honest with you Aaron, after using both for years, I can’t tell the difference. Its a marketing gimmick and Apple is just falling for the checklist match. To conclude, its not gonna change your life. But if they add it and if you are in need of an upgrade, sure, you’ll get it. But it sure is not an excuse to even upgrade from an iPhone 8.
