Man this saved my old i5-M450. This is quality content. Great explanations of each setting with real time examples. Thank you.

Just wanted to thank you. I did multiple optimizations and still had high CPU usage even using GPU for AI and having a good CPU. In the end the problem was the number of images sent to AI (at 10:15). Now performance is acceptable with my 20 cameras.

WOW, thank you for the lower your CPU post - my 16core xeon x 32gRam BI stole 18% cpu for (6 ) 5mp cameras .. down to 6% now. Subscribed .. will check em all out

Wow! I was thrilled to cut my Intel CPU usage by 50% !! You need to give lessons to many YouTube posters as to how to deliver useful information in a clear, concise, extremely well-paced, un-caffeinated manner with no "uh", "um" etc. I am a now a huge fan of your delivery-style. Thank you!

Another awesome video. Thank you
I have been searching for about an hour now for a question asked in the comments below.
How did you get the GPU usage to show on the lower right by CPU and RAM usage????

Thanks for the video! Enjoyed it and how you break down and share information. Looking forward to your upcoming video covering the AI features

Thank you. This was very helpful. You are doing a great job with these videos. Thanks. 😀

This video was extremely helpful, especially the part about the sub streams. I had near 100% CPU usage with two 4K cameras, and still have four more cameras to add to my system. After setting direct to disk recording and turning on the substreams, my cpu usage is below 10%. Thanks

This is excellent. MY CPU was a t 70% constantly on a 10thgen i9 with Nvidia Card.

Thanks for doing these video's, been converting over GANZ cameras from a old computer into Blue Iris. I already had some Reolink cameras running on it with very little cpu and ram, added some of the Ganz cameras and it the system was almost pegged. Put in some of the settings from this video and the system is normalized again.

Thanks for the video, it helped me reduce my CPU from 80% to 45%. I am using Nvidia GTX 950 and it shows an N under Status-Cameras-HA but it doesn't show the GPU usage on BI like yours. Mine says CPU 47% RAM 2.37G.

Great series - I'm sure this will help some people break through what is a rather unwieldy UI and pile of toggles. On the AI CPU usage - the 3rd party AITool had a good option to be able to set several IPs for AI servers and spread the load. Unfortunately I can't see the option to specify multiple servers within BlueIris.

I assume that if motion/AI detection is working on the sub stream which has a resolution and quality far below the main stream, that could impact accurate motion detection significantly.

wow i lover mine cpu from 80% to 12% thank you!!!!

apparently i have a lot of your videos to watch. i've been trying to get my blue iris squared away where it's actually running smooth. for some reason, only some of my cams will use the nvidia decoding. i have 10 cams i think and my i7-6700 with 16gb of ram stays pegged at roughly 100% and close to maxed memory. i'll be upgrading memory soon to hopefully help a little. i don't even have the software open most of the time. just the service running.

I have 7 4K Amcrest cameras and my mini PC with an i5-8500T was constantly ranging between 85% - 100% processor. Enabled the "limit decoding unless required" on each camera, not all of them had it on and unchecked "Display overlays live" for each and now my processor is below 30%. I already had some of the other settings set.

Great video however I would like to see more on system builds. I currently have BI running on an old Intel i7 with an Nvidia P400 my next step is going to be migirtaing to a SFF system.

Hi
Firstly, thank you for your informative videos.

I followed all your video guides for installing BI on a Windows 11 Pro computer.
The PC in an AllInOne i5 with 12 GB RAM and a 1TB SSD drive.
I am currently using 6 cameras and using zerotier for remote access.

The CPU usage looks high. It hits 100 sometimes.

Is it a limitation on BI?

I need your advice please.

All the best
