The Need For New Brake Hardware When Replacing Your Brake Pads

Before you add on any brake hardware, clips, etc., you must clean the contact areas of the caliper, then set the hardware in place. After setting in place, apply specific brake caliper lube (able to handle heat) to all pad to hardware contact points. Once that is completed, set the pads in the appropriate positions.

Remember, periodic cleaning and lubrication is recommended during the lifespan of brake systems. From cleaning and re-lubricating caliper hardware to flushing the old brake fluid out, a good braking system requires a little TLC every once in a while.
