How To: Apply Brake Lube | PowerStop

Показать описание
When installing brakes, it is important to pay attention to where you place lubricant. Lube ensures noise-free braking and proper system operation.

Lubricate all moving and sliding components to ensure noise-free and smooth braking system operation.

You want to apply the minimum lubricant because a thin layer is all you needed. Apply lubricant on caliper pins, clips, edges of the brake pad mounting tabs, and back side of the brake pads if needed.

*Do not apply lube on the friction side of the brake pads.

Wife's new brakes were squeaking after I had put them on a few weeks ago. Tried this. Works perfectly with no noise at all. Wife happy.

A lot of mechanics are adding some sort of lubricant under the abutment clips. Is there any benefit?

How often should brakes be lubricated?

I purchased the Z36 pads with drilled and slotted rotors for the front. I lubricated everything as mentioned in the video and my Z36 carbon ceramic pads squeak horrible. I broke them in as per the instructions on the box and it is really embarrassing to have squealing/squeaking brakes on a newer Sierra Denali. I'm going to trash the Powerstop's and switch back to OEM ACDelco.

Thank you for the video, the little diagram on your lubricant packet was quite confusing.

Do you need to install abutment clips? I left mine off because they were too tight. Now I'm dealing with sticking pads...
Is that a culprit?

Can I use brake lubricant that is used on pads tab on the calliper pins or do recommend brake grease

There's so much conflicting info on this brake paste i miss the days when nobody ever used paste ( this was before my time but my dad always mentions it lol). I'm having a stickign issue with some pads and I thin it may be because of the lubricant I am using.. this purple cermaic brake paste which almost seems like glue was applied to the back of my pads. Should I just put these things in dry? With only slight amount on the ears? Is it even necessary to lube the piston like i see in so many vids?
