Easily my favorite Sonic ever, he grows, has good development and he acts like a real kid, the first movie being open, friendly, playful and small, The Second film, he is taller, still playful but more sarcastic and still learning responsibility, Third Movie, being alot more mature, forming a little ego(teenage), more independent and serious and taller

I actually read somewhere that he never got proper nutrients when he lived in a cave that's why he was so small and after getting a family his daily body needs are fulfilled

It's also noticeable when Sonic lands on his sofa in the first movie, and in Knuckles series. In the first movie he almost drowns in that sofa, it's too big for him, and in Knuckles series he is grown up, and he can even hang his leg from it.

A subtle detail throughout the Sonic Movies is that in Sonic Movie 1, his eyes were more black than green and he was shorter to signify him representing Classic Sonic. Sonic Movie 2 showed Sonic grow up a bit in height and in maturity and his eyes gain more of that green color we know today referencing the Adventure transition from classic to modern Sonic. By Sonic Movie 3, he’s grown even more and his eyes are practically identical to the game Sonic we have today.

Bit by bit, we saw our little Blue Blur grow up and it was beautiful every step of the way!

Something I love about movie Sonic is that he's got actual characterization. Not that he doesn't have that in the games, but in the movies he feels more like an actual character rather than just a symbol, if that makes sense. He's got a backstory, and we get to see his flaws and moments of weakness.

Okay, I'll be honest, the sonic movies are a great example of how taking creative liberties to make something your own goes well. Cause, connically sonic was 15 in the original Sega games and seeing him grow into an adult with an adopted family is so heart warming and I love it so much. So even though it wouldn't really be weird if he was just a 15 year old in green hill zone fighting a 40 year old doctor, it is nice to see him as a kid growing up.😊
