Strangely I got the 12gb version for slightly cheaper than the10gb version was worth a couple weeks back. It's still a beast for what average gamers like me need.

This RTX 3080 12GB is the "RTX 3080 Super", but the difference in performance is that between RTX 3070 and RTX 3070Ti.. almost 0

What is always missing, is Final Fantasy 15 with 4K-Pack.
That eats up a lot of VRAM and is probably one of the best for Benchmarking with huge VRAM.

For some reason, your 12GB RTX, cannot maintain the same speed as the 3080 10GB, Unboxed review showed a bigger difference, so big, that the difference between the 3080ti and the 12gb 3080, was the same as what we are seeing in this video, more or less.

So the RTX 3080 launch at an MSRP of $699 (what a great price for a great GPU) and then to squeeze everyone of every last drop of money as they realised there mistake they launched the RTX 3080 12GB at a minimum of $1000, usually a bit more! So not only did we get screwed by the scammers, retailers, AIB's during the so called shortage, the manufactures in both Nvidia and AMD now have put in a new price band by jumping all prices up to the next tier! How truly sad!

3080 10GB: Cheaper, Lower temps, considerably lower RAM usage and less Power draw.
3080 12 GB: 4% More FPS

I think I started to build new comp at right time. Prices have dropped nicely for 3080 and difference between 10GB amd 12GB was only 30€. Looking at discussions from couple months ago price gap seemed to be over 100(even200) and that is not worth it. But 30? Sounds reasonable.

In conclusion the 12GB version is consistently 4% - 7% faster than the 10GB version, but it isn't worth paying 200$/€/£ extra.

There are some differences between them tho, the RTX 3080 12GB have 2GB more, runs hotter and have extra 3-5 fps more, intresting, very good nVidia 😂, i guess i will keep my RTX 3080 10GB 😃

you can see the i9 having to work harder with the 10gb version while teh 3080 does the hard work in the 12 gb version

Seeing some in the comments makes me realize how crazy the market was a year ago, (not that it's in a great place now.) I'm happy to report I was able to get a used 3080 10gb for $380
