Lyrics:

Yummy, yummy, yummy, I've got love in my tummy
And I feel like a-lovin you
Love, you're such a sweet thing, good enough to eat thing
And that's just a-what I'm gonna do

Ooh, love to hold ya
Ooh, love to kiss ya
Ooh, love I love it so

Ooh love, you're sweeter
Sweeter than sugar
Ooh love, I won't let you go

Yummy, yummy, yummy, I've got love in my tummy
And as silly as it may seem
The lovin' that you're giving is what keeps me livin'
And your love is like peaches and cream

Kind-a like sugar
Kind-a like spices
Kind-a like, like what you do

Kind-a sounds funny
But, I love honey
And honey, I love you

Yummy, yummy, yummy, I've got love in my tummy
That your love can satisfy
Love, you're such a sweet thing, good enough to eat thing
And sweet thing, that ain't no lie

I love to hold ya
I love to kiss ya
Oh love, I love it so

Oh love, you're sweeter
Sweeter than sugar
Oh love, I won't let you go

Sweet thing
Yummy, yummy
Sweet thing

Sweet thing
Yummy, yummy
Sweet thing

"Yummy Yummy Yummy" is a song by Arthur Resnick and Joey Levine, first recorded by Ohio Express in 1968. Their version reached No. 4 on the U.S. Pop Singles chart in June and No. 5 on the UK Singles Chart. It has since been covered by many artists. Ohio Express was a studio concoction and none of the "official" members appear on the record. Joey Levine sang lead vocals.

Joey Levine sang "Yummy Yummy Yummy" live for the first time ever in Henderson, Tennessee at the Caravan Of Stars XV, on May 17, 2008.

Time Magazine included it in its 2011 list of songs with silly lyrics. It ranked No. 2 in Dave Barry's Book of Bad Songs.

"Yummy Yummy Yummy" has been used in a commercial for Kinder chocolate, in The Simpsons in the episodes "Itchy & Scratchy: The Movie" and "The Heartbroke Kid", in Monty Python's Flying Circus in the episode "How Not to Be Seen" (facetiously credited to "Jackie Charlton and the Tonettes"), in Futurama in the episode "Saturday Morning Fun Pit", and in the "Last McSupper" scene of the film Super Size Me. The song also makes an appearance in the movie Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 and at the end of an episode of Timon and Pumbaa, in which the titular characters perform it in the parody form of an animated music video. It is also featured in the movie Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

Giorgio Moroder released a version as single A-side in 1968 (as Giorgio).
Baccara recorded a Euro Pop version in the 1970s.
Julie London recorded a cover for her album Yummy Yummy Yummy in 1968.
The Residents recorded a cover for their album The Third Reich 'n Roll in 1975.
L7 recorded a cover for their album Fast & Frightening in 2016.

I was 7 or 8 when I first heard this song, living in Sugar Land, Texas, when one of the older neighborhood kids got the 45 and put it on their little record player.

I was ADDICTED.

No one stopped me as I played this song—at least—2 dozen times. I couldn't get it out of my head for weeks, and I told all of my little classmates that it was one the best songs in the whole world.

It's funny to listen to now and hear how nasally Levine sang it. Maybe that's why I loved it so much, because it was almost like a little kid like me had sung it. Either that or my little tummy just loved getting filled with sweets and love just sounded sweet?

Still can't believe they let me lift the needle and play this tune repeatedly that many times dancing in their garage. 😅

This girl I used to know always sang "yummy yummy yummy I got food in my tummy" whenever she was eating food she really liked. I didn't know this song existed, I thought it was just something her mom taught her or something. Whatever.
