5-year-old boy rescued from 15m deep well in China

A 5-year-old boy has been rescued from a 15m deep well in China by firefighters who used inventive methods to rescue him. Eleven firefighters went to the site after receiving an emergency call from the boy's family. A firefighter was lowered into the well head first, but his shoulders could not get through the hole with a 20-centimetre diameter.

The firefighters then used a mirror to reflect light into the bottom of the well, so the trapped boy could see the rope sent to him, and grab it.

The boy was pulled out of the well and handed over to his family. Report by Genelle Aldred.
