IDOM had a great run. Both Kawano (winners bracket) and IDOM (losers bracket) both went undefeated in their perspective brackets. IDOM slaying through 3 straight Japanese powerhouses (Daigo, Tokido, and Gachikun) It was not until the Grand Final when it came down to the final last round (with a losers reset) to make it one of the most memorable finals in EVO history. Congrats to both.

This was, hands down, the best Top 8 I've ever seen. Idom was incredible, and it came down to the absolute last round. Couldn't possibly be any closer.
If this really is the end of SFV, it was a great send off.

Man that grand final was special. I have not watched Evo for a very long time but that got me hyped AF.

Shout to IDOM! You could argue he was the MVP on a losing team. Had to go thru some heavy hitters to get to the final and came within seconds from winning it all. Tremendous job.

Top 8 was just perfect! Grand finals going down to last game last round, and to top it all off, James Chen finishing it with 'is it gonna kill?" is the cherry on top. Congratulations to everyone!

Man, this Top 8 was truly the new generation of players vs the old. What a great top 8 it was.

IDOM played great that had to be so much pressure to power through so many great players. It was so close, but congrats to the winner Kawano.

Man this was set up to be a perfect ending for SFV and to pass the torch onto SF6. I really doubt the competition and excitement can be topped at EVO Japan. Either way, I'm happy for Kawano and that a Kolin took the win.

Great to see Daigo and Tokido making Top 8 again. Those two should have gotten a big a popoff as Idom.

It was great to see the community rally around Idom after the show, getting the reset and having two tourney points and coming up just short in the end must have felt crushing, but to see so much support his way was very awesome. What an incredible grand finals by both players

By far the best finals I’ve seen so far this year to date. Amazing job IDOM and Kawano

in my opinion, kawano and idom are having their best moments. in fact, Idom in the US has been the top player for at least 2-3 years. And kawano has been very consistent in their results for the same time period in Japan. Congratulations to both of them for the high level they played. Thank you kawano for keeping the evo title away from the Americans for another year.

3:28:54 Kawano building his V-Reversal meter here is crucial. That activation is just perfect!

Seeing Ultra David and James Chen commenting street fighter finals takes me back 12 year's or something like that lol... Damn Been a long time I don't watch but it's so cool to see that they're still around and doing a great job.

The fact that Daigo and Tokido is still making Top 8 after all this time with all the competition that has come and went is simply amazing
