Peter, you forgot to mention that the Saudis also went the Chinese for a same deal and failed miserably.

After all these decades I think it would be an honor to let these people settle their own problems.

Yeah. I really don't see the US wanting to get dragged back into the Middle Eastern imbroglioafter finally detaching themselves from it. With the U.S. actively backing Ukraine in a hot war and trying to manage the China/N. Korea scenario at the other end of the planet, I don't see an upside for them.

Thanks for making videos everyday here lately Peter. I appreciate a daily dose of your input, and the fact that they're relatively short.

I don’t recognize that mountain range.

The only acceptable deal would be handing over final decision on everything oil to the United States in exchange for protection.

Maybe they should just make an air conditioned battlefield

With friends like SA, and an increasingly intractable, disturbingly far-right Israel, maybe we should be more careful about whom we choose to associate with, starting right now. As someone who is old enough to remember the Arab oil embargo, 9/11, and the atrocities committed against anyone who raises descent in that barbaric fiefdom, I've got nothing for them. Ever. And as someone who remembers when Israel acted more like an actual democracy and less like a ham-fisted theocracy, hell-bent on expansion at any cost, I want to see our old friend return to the democratic side of things a bit before considering any new "commitments." This is one area in which putting American interests first is a no-brainer. Let them both do their own clean-up/fence mending for once.

Thank you Peter for your basically moderate and forthright observations. I always feel healthy when I hear things which haven't been sugar coated.

Saving this to rewatch 1) as things unfold and 2) if anything comes of it.

He's indoors?! Very correct information as always, the Middle East isn't worth the trouble. Not that it was ever really going all that well.

As an American, I would simply say thanks, but no thanks to the Saudis.

No to US security guarantees to Saudi Arabia and further US entrenchment into Middle East.

It would be hard to trust MBS or Netanyahu in any deal, but a deal with BOTH MBS AND Netanyahu? Pass.
