Good list of pros and cons for each choice. I like to fish in some shallower areas so the kayak works for me, plus as an Old Town kayak owner, the durability gives me piece of mind. Plus I can transport it on top of my Honda Passport. And I actually like to paddle once in a while (although I do have a pedal drive too). Nothing wrong with a little exercise! All comes down to personal choice. Good video.

What up Greyson! My first kayak was (still have it) a Lifetime Tamarack Angler 10. Did lots of mods, because I HATE paddling also, like a trolling motor. Second kayak is a Perception Outlaw 11.5. I love it, put a 55lb thrust Haswing Cayman trolling motor on the back and I get a little over 4mph. 60 ah lithium. As you know, I just bought the BPS Prowler 12 Jon Boat. Doing some mods, but I will have it on the water soon without the mods. Thanks for all your videos on kayaks, jon boats and fishing!!

I've went back and forth on this exact issue and decided the bonafide xtr 130 was the way to go for me. The 750 lb capacity over the 532 lb capacity on the plastic jon boat was the decision maker.

I have been looking at the plastic john boats. I found a 14’ aluminum v-hull that was stored in a barn for ten years and it only cost me $150. Yes it’s heavier than what I really wanted but for the price I couldn’t pass it up. Other than being really dirty this thing looks almost brand new. Now I just have to decide on what modifications I’m going to do…..😂😂

Is the bow mount trolling motor fairly solid kinda worried about damaging the boat or losing the trolling motor lol

One of the biggest things I like with my kayak, is I can throw it in the back of my small pickup, and just go. When I get to the "dock", I use a small cart (that I take with me), and put it in the water, and I am off. I don't have to mess with a trailer. Can you do that with one of those plastic John Boats?

Can this boat be pulled up a 45 degree incline for 10 feet using a truck and not pull out a bolt or something like it. My spot goes to a 25 degree angle at the top for 50 yards

If you grew up around boats, you wind find it almost impossible to flip a sit on top kayak.
