How to make your own 'Kanelbullar' - Swedish Cinnamon Buns at home.
Step 1. Lightly warm the milk, pour it into the mixing bowl and add the yeast.
Step 2. Mix in ground cardamom seeds, salt, butter, sugar and finally flour.
Step 3. Once the dough is ready, set aside, covered with a cloth and wait for 30min. In the meantime, prepare the filling by mixing all ingredients into a spreadable paste.
Step 4. Roll out the dough on a clean surface. Flatten the dough into a square. (use a rolling pin and sprinkle some flour if you need to)
Step 5. Spread the cinnamon filling on the dough. Fold the dough in half. And cut it to 2.5 cm strips. Step 6. Twist and roll the individual strip into a bun.
Step 7. When the buns are all rolled up, brush them with the egg wash, sprinkle with sugar and rest for another 30min. Set the oven to 250 degrees. Bake for 8 minutes.
INGREDIENT
To make the buns - you will need:
- 500g Full Cream Milk
- 50g Fresh Yeast/ 14g Dry Yeast
- 150g Butter, softened
- 90g caster sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon cardamom seeds/ grounded
- 780g Wheat flour
Prepare the Filling:
- 150g butter
- 90g caster sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

- 1 egg
- Some Peal Sugar/ raw sugar
