Replace Stock Fan on 3D Printer - Prevent Filament Clogging

A really easy upgrade you can do to your 3D printer is to upgrade the stock fan on your hotend. In previous video's i showed how you can replace your nozzle and insulate your hotend, but this is another fix for preventing clogging of your filament. The idea is that you are supplying more cool air to your heatsync, to keep that area cold.
The stock fan size was 30mm, i replace it with a 50mm fan. It also requires a new shroud to support the larger fan.

Hi Dave
in general, I suggest to have a 2 fan mounting.
one fan for permanent cooling the heat sink, like E3D suggests it for their products (I got my power directly from the plug in the printer
second fan for the material cooling, since ABS  does not need any cooling, in you version, the heat sink would not be cooled.
If you keep the "rule" one permanent fan for the heat sink and one for the material (controlled by the main board) you are save :-)

Dave, great video. However, I don't see the links to the shrouds you mentioned. Can you please provide them? I really need to replace the fan as it has noisy interferences on some frequencies and in some places. It's driving me absolutely nuts.

Any chance of getting links to both ideas here? Printing allot of parts for my V2 right now and as a noob doing OK. Printed 7 things so far with zero issues, moving to the glass bed you recommended. I see your channel as the baseline the the Monoprice select mini.

Well how did it do, did it let you print faster or not, you didn't say? Thanks for sharing. ...

Thanks Dave for this video. Curious where did you get the little 30mm x 30mm extender so that it would clear the side wall? Searched all over Thingiverse, couldn't find one.
