Why do you say higher voltage will damage laptop? I just saw a video about mac that says even if you use quick charge which has higher voltage, and your laptop can’t do quick charge, it’s still safe and it just will default to the lower voltage? Does Mac have some special device like a special safegaurd? Is it software or hardware ?!

I have a 90 watt charger for my laptop. If I charge the laptop on custom or standard mode of power manager settings then it charges the laptop at much lower speed than express mode. So I want to know that if I charge on standard mode or custom mode, will my electricity consumption be less than 90 watts (because my charger is 90 watts) or if I select any mode, the electricity consumption will be 90watt

I brought a universal laptop charger with different plugs because I lost my original charger.I took the battery out of the laptop and it says 11.1v.The lowest amount of volts the universal charger is 12v.Is it ok to use the universal charger even though it's 1 v over or extra ?
