The REAL Budget Raser - DSPIAE Siren Review

Y'all should know by now that I'm a die-hard Gunprimer Raser fanboy. I've used it on numerous builds, and I have the Raser, Raser 1.5, and the Raser+. I was immediately shocked when I tried this file out for the first time, mostly because I didn't think a nano glass file this good would exist at this price point.

Watch the video for some comparisons and see how similar they actually are, it'll save you a good deal of money if you end up picking the Siren!

When I worked in a factory we used chalk to clean out files and wax to clean out sand paper on power sanders to extend the life and cutting of the consumables

Really appreciate all the contents you put up with budget users in mind. I just started on gunpla building and started off with terrible tools like box cutters and generic nippers. Thank you for going into all the details on how each tool work and how are they compared to the "best in class"

Just ordered and received one each for my daughter and I.

She's young and is still a bit leary of the exacto knife.

So this was a perfect tool for her.

First video I've seen of yours. Good video production man and great info! I'm a raser fan but I will definitely check out the siren now as I've slowly been becoming a big Dspiae fan.

I definitely appreciate the reviews here, I got me a siren on the way thanks to this. But I would recommend holding the parts still when showing the results lol. Moving them around while you're talking is hard to focus on them xD

Everyone creaming their pants over the Raser when the Siren does arguably as good of a gob for 1\4 of the price. Great comparison, thank you!

I know this is a year after this was released but I just purchased ANSAI glass file off of Amazon and you get 3 for $16. Used them last night and absolutely love ‘em

Damn, this is the 2nd video I've watched from you (first being the Raser & Generic glass file) and wow I really appreciate the comparisons you have. Consider me subbed!

I love the Raser but tools being over budget is a matter of discussion.
I used to buy a lot of sandpaper and sandingsticks before I got the Raser. So that already saves me things I have to buy over and over.
Then the model kits itself. RG and MG ones and up aren't cheap (at least not in my country), so investing in good tools you don't have to replace often and give you a good result is worth it imho.

Another way to clean up the DSPIAE Siren, in my experience, is just to wipe it on a cloth and that usually works for me. So you can wipe it on your pants, or DSPIAE and even HobbyMio sells one of those Static Electric Dust Removal Cloth if you don't want to dirty your pants lol

For the Dspiae siren I use dust cleaning gel to clean the glass file and it works on sandingsticks and sponges and cfbs.

Picked this up after the subreddit recommended me to do nipper cut, blade, then file with this since i have one of those entry nipper you get in a bundled kit. My denubbing looks so much better now

I use the siren with a denture brush for its cheap price and stiff brushes, in combination with the gunprimer gray balancer. Denture brushes work super well at cleaning the siren. I do personally prefer the raser for its size and shape however I can buy a siren, a denture brush, and a pack of gunprimer gray balancers for less that one raser, and achieve the same if not better results. If I can save a buck and not miss out on end results that’s a win for sure. And I’ll add those savings towards buying more Gunpla or a godhand

A baby wipe works like a charm to clean the siren, it takes out the plastic without leaving anything in the grooves

My friend gave me a 1/60 scale Barbatos model and I don't want to ruin it by leaving weird white marks all over it. I am looking at different ways to cut/finish models. I will look into these files

@aMilla what is that white vacuum?!? Anyone know the brand model?

I just got myself a raser v1.5 with a siren in the mail as a backup. Can't wait to try them out o find the difference. I've been using a raser+ for a couple of kits now and can honestly say that they're well worth it for sheer convenience. But, I do think I prefer the ergonomics of the 1.5 and siren a bit more due to their thinner profile. Only time will tell.
