Discount did this to my buddy Jason…the day after he had them installed. He drove to work and on the way he noticed a bad vibration under the front of the car. Got out and found not just one but both the tires on the driver side had bulges in them. The tried to say he had done something to cause this and weren’t going to cover them under warranty. Well they hadn’t counted on his parents owning the news paper in the town where they lived! So his parents published what happened…then discount tires corporate office got involved, threatened to sue…so my buddy and his parents both sued discount and won.

I bought tires online from Walmart and paid for a road hazard coverage for each tire. One tire kept loosing air and I took it in only for them to tell me that there was two nails in areas that could not be repaired so they wanted me to order a replacement tire and they would credit me the difference due to tire wear. The tires were 1 and a half years old and only had 7, 000 miles on them so I took it to another mechanic who plugged it and I had no problems since. Definitely won’t buy tires from Walmart again!

I guess they use that prorating thing too !! If your treads down 75% they only give you half ..or less of the cost of your tire back like they do with the battery warrantys !!

One of my 3 week old tires decided to make friends with a nail. The tire was $130 and I paid $10 for the warranty. The replacement for a 3 week old tire cost me $53 with tax. Scam.

I have used Discount Tire, known as America's Tire in some areas - for years - have always bought their road warranties, and they have been well worth it. When I drove a ton years ago, I bought tires for my 87 dodge Daytona, and went to get them balanced a couple of weeks later at a alignment shop - they told me the front tire was bald, I could not balance it. Was amazed the car could drive well and be that far out, went back to Discount Tire, they replaced the tire for free. I have had several tires replaced under warranty because they got a puncture where it couldn't be repaired, sidewall - when traveling for work had to have warranty honored under a Americas Tire store, no problem - prices are good, and I have no experience over many years of them selling "seconds" as some have claimed. My favorite tire for my 99 Mustang six is the plus 1 size on my 15" wheels, Cooper - though they don't make this size at times.

We still get notification in the mail for extended warranty for our used vehicle and they make it look like “You are at risk…our records show that you extended warranty for your car is about to expire…avoid high costs for car repairs like engine transmission sound equipment “ but just like Scotty Kilmer said is all Bull shirts!!!😠😡🤬 Gracias señor Scotty for fixing stupidity 👀😳🤣😂Texas do really misses you!!!

Remember that old Discount Tire commercial? "If you don't like your tire for any reason, just bring it back" (little old lady throws her tire through the window)

In my experience, Goodyear had been great with their road hazard protection.

I had the same tire replaced 3 times in one year (ran over a nail twice and popped it on a pothole once) and road hazard covered it every time.

Warranties are always a game of chance. I've driven cars for 20 years with multiple cross country trips. Never needed a tire replaced until I popped 3 in one year.

I paid extra for a warranty for Michelin tires, Town Fair, had a 1/2" screw go into tire, they wanted to plug it. I had to argue with a manager it's not safe in my family suv front tire. I had to google it, but they reluctantly replaced tire $240 tire, with 5, 000 miles. If they replaced it no problems even with a nail or curb I'd recommend it but, only because of size they did replace it, so a nail or small screw gets a plug.

If you're a State Trooper they don't allow plugs because it's unsafe in their high speed pursuit. Shouldn't be safe for a family vehicle going 75 on the highway I feel. Vehicle at the time was a 2015 Toyota Sienna Mini van 38, 000 miles approximately.
You really don't know if the belt inside is damaged it could blow out at 75 mph especially a steering tire sounds dangerous to me.

I got a tire from one of these tire co’s, the tire had a 80k warranty from the manufacturer, GoodYear, but when I got my reciept the tire co had sold me another warranty for $30 more. I wish I had seen this vid before then.

Since the video came out, I’m sure that added a clause that you “must replace the tire with the same make/model as installed” to honor any warranty

Scotty I have found Costco to be excellent. On five I occasions I have returned a blown tire. The technician examined it and said Mr ruberton we can fix it for free or you can have a new one for 13 50.
You are correct people should understand the contact psych between your tire and the road is about that if a 10 D shoe sole

The Discount Tire by my house is pretty good about replacing tires, however when they replaced one my steering was off and I had to buy a second to balance it out.

When i was HCC automotive. Most of the kids that went there were not the most financially stable and a lot of them went to discount tire so I would explain to them how to make their tires be replaced under warranty.

The junkyard I go to get tires and the warranty they give is pretty good there's something like that happens to replace it or give you the refund just for that tire

Go to discount tire, I always buy mine there for my cars and they are also honest with the warranties you buy. It happen to me one time, the tires didn’t last more than they were supposed to last and they gave me free tires and I just paid for the new warranty on them, I was so happy!!!.

After Selling/Installing tires for 3 years I agree and disagree with Scotty. Yes don’t buy the cheapest tire you can find, and definitely do your research. Every tire I sold tho I explained the tire Warranty was based on tread depth wear. If you never rotate your tires and they go bald that’s not our fault. If you routinely rotate, get alignments, and keep the tires at the proper pressure then a shop SHOULD always honor the warranty. I always tried to take care of customers and understand not every place would do the same.

Look at review for a tire model on several sites and then decide which to get based on how much you can spend . Go for highest quality you can afford. Like a good professor told me ; "do not skim on anything you use and touches the ground"
