Collective Ground - The View From Here

Показать описание
“I want people to understand that communities, while they may be separate, have Dreamtime stories that run through them.” – Collective Ground curator, Tui Raven.
On display until 14 November and returning in May 2022, Collective Ground explores deep time and the stories that flow through the land on which we all live — as told through the artworks of First Nations peoples across the state.
Curated by Yamaji Nyungar curator Tui Raven, this extraordinary exhibition brings together over 60 works, drawn from a collection of 129 pieces by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists from across Western Australia, acquired through The AGWA Foundation’s $1.5 million COVID Stimulus Package.
The pandemic has forced us to consider the way we live and how. Many of us have had to adjust from being in wide-open spaces to being contained in small spaces. It has been a time to reflect on the places we occupy, and the spaces we inhabit, internally and externally. Collective Ground asks the viewer to consider the ground on which they walk.
