This doesn't work for me at all. I've been doing this for years with friends but as soon as I try to type the name of this one person, who follows my page, I get the names of a million other people who I've never heard of but not the one person I'm looking for.

This is a mention not a tag, in Facebook they are different.

And what do you do when 100 people have the same exact name and the person you're looking for doesn't show up as an available option?

It lets me tag but it won't save the tag and I put the @ symbol but once I got save it just shows the persons name but type name it won't take me to the profile of the person that I tag and sometimes it will and sometimes it won't take me to the profile

but what if facebook only suggests two different matches that are not the correct match?

It used to work for I had done it but as of now does not work. It shows up name and acts like it is but as soon as I click enter it dehighlights them which means they are not going to get the message. This was in a comment. Now on a picture I did the same thing and it says tag successful but then when I viewed it they were not tagged. I wish It went back to working again.
