There is no such thing as "free". If you are getting something for free then there is someone somewhere paying for it. The govt doesn't pay. The tax payers are paying both the govt and this freebie. In my area, the local politicians would give free cable and win elections. After 20 years, our roads remain third class. People complain about the road condition and brag about how they got free cable for years. The people themselves are to blame for this situation. The minds needs to change. The generation need to change.

I am glad that people see the potential threats of free schemes! Electricity bills for many have already increased by 50% in the name of ‘free’.

Question is whether men from downtrodden sections of the society will have to pay increased fares to support these free travels by rich privileged women.

This is so annoying, increased price for the tickets for men, and free for women, increased electric prices. This government is looting the middle class people. 😢 My electricity bill used to come 2k, now I had to pay 4.6k

It's stupid they could have discounted some percentage but making whole free, LoL they will understand later that nothing is free in reality it's also the taxes of people which can be used on States more important development.

Disaster to karnataka economy😢
1) Electricity bill hiked
2) water bill will be hike by next month according to reliable sources
3) Property tax increased last week..
4) electricity rate hiked for industries so industries saying they move out of state..
5) no rain in karnataka except coastal karnataka so electricity consumption rised as of now so it adds further burden to government...

Advice to all men use other mode of transport than the state runed bus since this is not a fair scheme.

If you give a man a fish, you will undergo losses yourself. If you teach him how to fish, you will feed him for a lifetime and prevent further losses. It’s a case of speaking in haste during poll promises and then saving one’s face later.

Good scheme. If travel can be free for all the politicians, why shouldn’t it be free for the common people who pay the taxes.

Supreme Court needs to issue strict orders against such free stuffs anywhere in the country.

Only if it was paid from politician's salary instead of tax-payers money.. Always remember nothing in this world is free, there's always a hidden cost involved with freebies and in this case the hidden burden is on tax-payers and increased inflation (electricity, GST etc).
