Yes she is 100% right, I recently came to Bengaluru from Mangaluru for studies, Actually for starting days I was so disturbed from these Bengaluru slangs, I used to address the friends in beginning(before they became close friends) with some polite words like banni, hogi nimma etc but as the reply barallo, Hogallo, hogalle, sariyalle
(I don't say mangalorians don't speak bad words but definitely they won't speak harshly as Bengaluru people😉 )
But after 4 months now I am convinced with this slang
