How to circuit bend a Cassette Player and Guitar Hero controller.

In this video I show I how modify a small portable cassette player that I bought from Amazon, a used Guitar Hero game controller from Goodwill and a cheap delay board from eBay into a fun mellotron type of instrument.

The device has 5 buttons/keys on the neck that play the cassette tape at different speeds. Speed is set by a tuning knob for each key. The PT2399 delay board that I installed only came with a Mix knob so I modified it to add Feedback and Length controls.

Defintely a design I'm familiar with, but great idea and execution using the guitar. Honestly genius dude.

This is the coolest thing I've seen all year! I was inspired to make a tape echo using 2 tape recorders because of your videos. Unfortunately, the wire that connected them together snapped but not before I got some really great sounds from it. I just wish my soldering skills were better. There was some buzz.

That feedback mod is super delicate, messed up two modules trying to solder it.

You should put masking tape on plastic like that before you dremel or drill. Saves a lot of work later smoothing it out.

It would be awesome to throw a monotron delay there and play with the "freets"

Can this be done with the dj hero turntable? I have both, the turntable and a cassette player.
