I bought this second-hand Lumix FZ82 on MPB because I didn't have a camera that could zoom in as far as this one. The quality is surprisingly good for the price and I'm going to have a lot of fun with this thing. Purchase links are below.

I've owned one of this little cameras for over a year now and if I don't want to take my dslr and a bunch of lenses, this camera goes with me. It is pretty much a perfect holiday camera. Yes it's a compromise compared to a dslr or mirrorless camera but for the money you can't go wrong. Also an ideal camera if you are jumping from a phone to a first dedicated camera.

I have this camera and its excellent for my needs, you should try the Panasonic FZ330. Same sort of set up but the zoom is only 25-600mm, but its F2.8 through out the whole focal lemgth.. Its only 12mp but it can also shoot at 4K 30fps, it has a flip out selfie display and a 3.5mm external mic socket.. I have both these cameras and as i said above they both fulfil my needs..

I like the FZ80/82 as well. Got mine refurbished. Was able to capture Jupiter, its moons and Saturn with it back in August 2020.

Was considering this as a birthday gift for my wife (she is an avid photographer but only as a part-time) and was unsure whether the camera was worth £300. Video super I formative thank you and I e now ordered it for her :)

5min20sec it is called shutter roll...the electricity is sent to the sensor in segments thus creating distortion when trying to capture moving images.

I was curious about this camera for timelapse, really cool you tested it out -- the shots look great actually! And probably adds an element of fun to shooting scenes it seems...

Не совсем понял как улучшить стабилизацию кадра при съёмке видео. Мэтью сказал, что нужно пользоваться механическим затвором вместо электронного, это как понимать?

Hi. I have a canon 7D Mark II with EFS lenses. Mostly use the 18-135 for travel. I use APSC to keep the size and weight down. However I still sometimes struggle to fit the camera and 2 lenses in my bag. My little compact doesn't shoot raw. Do you think this is a great camera for traveling light. I use DXO photolab 7 and I'm wondering if the camera is supported and if DXO lens corrections will help make an acceptable image. I'm not expecting it to match the 7Dii performance, but when I was forced to take my compact with zoom and 6mm sensor to India I was so disappointed only having Jpeg images.

La mejor cámara para aquellos que quieren introducirse en la fotografía! Gran video! De hecho, la vendo en Wallapop por cambio de equipo

Welcome to the Lumix FZ club! A new world of photographic possibilities! Here is an example. Set up your tripod so you can swing the camera left and right with the level indicator on the screen, level with the horizon. Enable Panoramic mode. JPG only I believe, so experiment with reducing the amount of in camera sharpening, you can sharpen in post with good result. Practice swinging the camera smoothly as it records multiple exposures. On my FZ2500 the standard image size is 5472x3648 in 3x2 aspect. With the in camera panoramic, I get 7632x1920. This produces a higher image quality compared to cropping of the top and bottom of the image! I get sharp prints out to 26 inches wide, which is the limit of my Canon Pixma Pro 100! Remember to fix your exposure if swinging through scenes that have brightness variation so the image has a consistent rendering. Otherwise you will make a pano out of different brightness images.

Thank you for sharing your views and tutorial, I don't know if you are aware, you can get 4800mm digital zoom but you need to turn on izoom and digital zoom. Also 5280m m in video mode. Good luck with your future tutorials.

Looks like a great way to get timelapses with super telephoto focal lengths on a budget. As a suggestion, I’d love to see a Timelapse of the moon rising or setting with this camera.
