Dr. Doug is a psychotherapist with 30 years of experience working as a Marriage and Family Therapist and also as a professor at Antioch University where he founded the nation’s first LGBT Specialization in Clinical Psychology and also Colors LGBTQ Youth Counseling Center in 2005 and 2010 respectively. He is also an award-winning journalist and author of two books, Sacred Lips of the Bronx and Sex Between Men: An Intimate History of the Sex Lives Postwar to Present.

He is giving a monthly free talk as part of a “Community Psychology in Depth” Series at the Antioch University Library the first Wednesday of every month.

what's your response to those who posit that any type of monogamous relationship is "heteronormative". Is this not dismissive and hurtful and playing upon negative stereotypes? why are some so critical of those who just want 1 boyfriend? is it jealousy or where does this come from? I don't see why so many in the community attempt to validate stereotypes and think that gay culture is all about sex and drugs and partying
