Dr. Jeffrey Brinker provides a comparison of various conditions that can cause fainting, including postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), neurally mediated hypotension and vasovagal syncope. He gives a great review of what the tilt table test can show and how it is used by doctors to diagnose or rule out conditions like POTS in patients suffering from symptoms related to dysautonomia. This lecture was given at the October 25th CSF Chapter meeting at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.

Thank you so much for this video!! It helped me understand my diagnosis provided today by this same doctor. I have POTS and NMH. This has helped me consolidate the information I was provided today.

A few years ago I went through a tilt table test and was suggested that I Neurally meditated hypotension it is something I have experienced in since I was 14-15 years old. Nowadays, I haven't completely fainted but have had episodes of near fainting.
