She didn’t do much research…family medicine docs such as myself start at 300k fresh out of residency (in the state of California). Red states most likely less. Bonuses can definitely increase salary…I get a bonus of at least $20k each year. I also work urgent care a few hours on the weekend or whenever I want on which can supplement my income an extra 5k per month. Internal medicine physicians cannot work urgent care as we see a lot of pediatric patients and OB.

Hello doctor. I’m a young doctor about to apply for residency programs. I was considering interventional radiology as a speciality because I love all the high tech and the wide range of cases you see. But I’m worried about the risk of tumours and I also plan to have kids in the future. So I’m worried it would affect my pregnancy or if my future pregnancies would have a negative impact on my career. Can you please tell us about the downsides of your speciality?
