I was about to decase a 4 day old GoPro Hero 10 I received because the buttons nor the touch screen was non-responsive. Tried holding the mode button pressed 10 seconds as well with no success.
I finally tried a solution provided by jessea05 on the GoPro community forum, this *actually* worked!
I formatted my SanDisk Extreme 128Gb SSD card and created a text file – factory_reset and saved the file on the card. I then inserted it in this GoPro Hero 10 and powered it on. The unit restarted itself a couple of times and powered on stabilized. Buttons worked, the touch screen worked.
Saved a Hero10 from going under the knife :p
