Always detangle from end to root! It’ll make it much easier for you to detangle your hair, and reduce breakage.

Also, try using something like a denman brush or a tangle teezer to make your life easier when you’re detangling.

I am 64 now. Back in the 90's when I still had all of my hair, I did my own undercut and did my own twists in exactly this style. Until I got dreadlocks with undercut later. I might have been ahead of my time when I was in my 30's? Most were wearing Gumbies back then.
