Whether your songs are inspirational, edutaining, or slapstick people LOVE to put labels on things so you really have no choice but to keep creating. The public will eventually place you in the category they see fit. You can also start off as one genre, blow up, then branch out. Like Outkast did, Mos Def, Black Eyed Peas. Hell, even Taylor Swift. They all changed with the rising tide and stayed afloat.

You definitely are unique... it is hard to place you into one predetermined genre. Hip-Hop would be my first choice, but you educate in a way that no one else does. I’m new to your music but after listening to 2 of your songs, I’d definitely say that your genre is hip hop, however, I think when ppl hear “hip hop” in 2021, they instantly think about trap music…and there is absolutely a distinction. You are hip hop, not trap.

I just started making beats and I’ve been having the same exact problem smh.

My beats sound like they’d be on the soundtrack of a movie about a soulful outer space voyage across the galaxy 😂…….but between the synth sounds and the drum patterns, I can’t tell if it’s electronic or hip hop. 😵‍💫
